DAMA Tanzania Advances Data Analytics and Responsible AI Through Upcoming Webinar Series

DAMA Tanzania – Dar es Salaam Chapter is continuing to strengthen Tanzania’s growing data community through a series of knowledge-sharing webinars focused on two increasingly important areas: the evolving role of the modern data analyst and the role of data governance in enabling responsible artificial intelligence.
The upcoming sessions bring together experienced industry professionals to share practical perspectives, encourage discussion and help professionals better understand the changing data landscape.
The Future of Analytics: The Rise of the Modern Data Analyst
The first webinar, “The Future of Analytics: The Rise of the Modern Data Analyst,” explores how the role of the data analyst is evolving as organisations increasingly rely on data to guide strategy, improve operations and support better decision-making.
The session is presented by John Mosha, Head of Strategy, Data & Analytics at ABSA Bank Tanzania.
Participants will have an opportunity to explore the skills becoming increasingly important within the profession, how analytics is changing within modern organisations and the ways in which data professionals can contribute to smarter, more informed decision-making.
The webinar takes place on 17 September 2026 from 5:15 PM to 6:45 PM EAT.
Data Governance to Leverage Artificial Intelligence
The second webinar, “Data Governance to Leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI),” focuses on one of the most important challenges facing organisations adopting AI: ensuring that the data underpinning these technologies is properly governed, secure and responsibly managed.
The session is led by Dr. Carina K. Wangwe, Chief Data Officer and Associate Director at UNICEF.
As artificial intelligence becomes more deeply embedded in business, government and development initiatives, strong data governance provides an essential foundation for responsible and effective implementation. The webinar will examine how governance frameworks can support ethical AI, strengthen accountability and improve the quality and reliability of data-driven systems.
The session takes place on 8 October 2026 from 5:15 PM to 6:45 PM EAT.
Building Tanzania’s Data Community
As President of DAMA Tanzania – Dar es Salaam Chapter, Harish Bhatt has highlighted the importance of creating opportunities for professionals to learn, connect and exchange knowledge as Tanzania’s data ecosystem continues to grow.
These webinars support that objective by connecting members of the data community with experienced practitioners and creating a platform for conversations around analytics, governance, artificial intelligence and modern data management.
The initiative also reflects a wider need for organisations to develop both the technical capabilities and governance structures required to extract meaningful value from data while using emerging technologies responsibly.
Through continued learning and collaboration, DAMA Tanzania is helping strengthen the professional community needed to support a smarter and increasingly data-driven Tanzania.
Learn. Connect. Grow.
